Privacy notice
What we collect and what we do with it, in plain English.
The Aligned Self (“we”, “us”) is the data controller for the information you give us through this website. This notice explains, in plain English, what we collect and what we do with it. We collect as little as we can, and we do not sell your data.
What we collect
- Your email address, so we can send your assessment results.
- Your assessment responses and scores, so we can generate your result and, if you have an account, save it for you to revisit.
- Account details if you create an account: your name and a securely stored password.
- Order information if you buy a workbook or the full assessment. Payments are processed by our payment provider; we do not store your full card details.
- Basic technical data such as your device type and pages visited, used to keep the site working and understand what is useful.
How we use it
We use your information to deliver your results, give you access to what you have bought, run your account, reply to your messages, and improve the service. If you opt in, we use your email to send occasional notes. You can unsubscribe at any time from any email we send.
Our legal basis
We rely on contract to provide the assessment and products you ask for, consent for optional marketing emails and non-essential cookies, and our legitimate interests in keeping the service secure and improving it. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time.
Who we share it with
We share information only with the service providers who help us run the platform, such as our hosting, email and payment providers, and only so they can perform that service for us. They act on our instructions and are bound to protect your data. We may also disclose information where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and results for as long as your account is active. If you close your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must keep certain records (for example, order records for tax purposes).
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to access your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to certain processing, and receive a copy in a portable format. To exercise any of these, contact us using the details below. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
